Change The World...Even When It Seems Crazy!

Yesterday was the first segment to our Evan Almighty Series ("Change the world...every chance we get") and it was great! For those of you who didn't get to share it with us, and those of you who want to think further, here are some things over which you can ponder (adapted from the book, "Do Good Evan Almighty"):

What would you say is your largest goal in life?

How can you make a positive impact, big or small, in your world?

Where does loving others rank in your list of priorities?

And a few things to ask yourself at the end of the week:

Where have I seen a need this week?

How did I act on that need?

What would I do differently next time?

AND, for EVERY day...

What can I do as a RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS?

PIE IN THE FACE Day

November 27th is "Pie In the Face" Day, so if anyone has a chance to bake a pie and hit someone (or him/herself) in the face, we do encourage you to do so. It is a holiday after all...why not celebrate? ;)

Or, if you prefer to eat your lovely pie, you could reverse the holiday: instead of "Pie in the Face," try "Face in the Pie."

Our Youth Leaders

Please pray for all the REAL youth leaders. They are at the National Youth Workers Convention this weekend in Atlanta. Keep them on your mind and pray that they are safe, learn a lot, have fun, and feel God's presence. Our youth leaders are all very important, so make sure you show them your appreciation when they get home! The youth leaders away this weekend are: Deanna, Kim, Vickie, Bill, Chris, Nate, and Pastor Andrea.

Do you know everything there is to know about music and bands?
Well, we're about to test your knowledge!

We're going to post clues about a Christian band and see if you can figure out which band we are describing.

Every few days, a new clue will be posted...so keep checking back to the site!

And when you figure out the band, make sure you comment this blog with your name and the name of the band/artist!

1. In the 10th song of their 4th album, you'll find this lyric: "...me and the twins..."

You're Invited...

To a NIGHT OF THANKS!

When was the last time you sat down to think about all the things for which you are thankful? Part of our worship to God is remembering the many things he has done for us, including the ways he is stretching us each day.
We want to give you the opportunity to spend some time worshiping God and, more importantly, giving Him the thanks and praise He deserves.

Date: Wednesday, November 14, 2007.
Time: 7:00--usual youth group time!
Don't be late!

What to Bring: Anything that will help you bring your thanks to God.

Need ideas?
-Bring a poem that represents your thankfulness of who God is.
-Bring a song that represents God to you.
-Bring a picture that reveals something to you about God.
-Bring a list of things for which you are thankful.
-Bring peaks (ways you see God working in your life!).
Be creative and bring anything you want that will help you express your thankfulness during the Thanksgiving season!

Downhere Concert


The Downhere concert is scheduled for November 10th at Greencastle High School.
Be at the church by 6:15pm.

The cost is $10 in advance (pay by Wednesday) or $16 at the door.

Please sign up for the event by Wednesday, November 7th.
